Economic Diplomacy and New Technologies
The WECC, World Expo Commissioners Club, organised Thursday, 26 March, in its headquarters in Piazza Duomo 21, in the heart of Milan, a round table on technology and diplomacy.
“We discussed issues related to economic diplomacy and how technological change affects this topic at the international level” confirmed Nausika Spahia, Executive Vice President of WECC.
During the event, the official B2B platform of the World Expo Commissioners Club, also designed for the world of Diplomacy, was presented.
Douglas T. Hickey, Commissioner General for the United States for EXPO 2015 said: “The focus of the USA Pavilion will be innovation in sectors that can play a significant role in feeding a future population of 9 billion people, such as energy efficiency, transport, biotechnologies, health care and water saving”.
“Economic diplomacy includes all economic activities, not only limited to exports, imports or investments, but also includes all sales and trade agreements, as an aggregator of tools for a common economic goal”, said Matteo Pederzoli, moderator and curator of the EU Pavilion experience | Executive Producer).
Among the speakers, the Lombardy Region on the subject of Expo and the Commissioner General of the United States, Douglas Hickey. Also speaking were Alessandro Rosso, President of WECC, Carlo Cozza, Chairman of LocalEyes Ltd for the GlobeMatch platform and Paolo Paganelli, Bluegreen Strategy with ALICE European Technology Platform on the subject: “From Collaboration to Trusted Platforms: Business Models for the Connected World”.
